PIETRADORATA A CUPRAMONTANA The location of this property is a very quiet and hilly area, famous for the production of excellent white wine, Verdicchio. This farmhouse had a sound structure before the restoration, so the architect advised its owners to keep the original appearance of the building. The house was completely restored, but the floors were kept as similar to the original as possible. An internal staircase had to be built, windows had to be opened on the ground floor, and the three dark rooms in the cellar were to be turned into a large kitchen and dining room. It wasn’t easy to find old materials that would fit the plan, and it took a lot of time and research. Beams were carefully chosen and placed, as well as the old doors, and the old basin. The stones of the house were not cleaned; walls were left imperfect, even though the workers didn't agree with that... It's always a struggle to convince everybody to accept the idea of imperfection…
